Options for Everyone
As you’ll see from some of the results below, Fine Art as an investment, when done correctly, with the correct gallery/broker, can be extremely profitable in a relatively short time frame.
In fact – according to The Economist, Art prices were up 211% between 2003 and 2013 despite the financial crisis
For all my investments, I recommend keeping the strategy straightforward and easy to manage. The same applies to art.
My advice is to adopt a simple buy-and-hold approach for art, ideally for a minimum of three years. However, the specific pieces you choose, as well as the artists you select, are crucial factors to consider.
There’s good investment art pieces for all kinds of different budgets – this isn’t only for the ultra wealthy like the movies. And the minimum entry level is probably lower than you think.
According to Deloitte, 88% of wealth managers advise apportioning a part of investment portfolios towards art.
